Bendermong Paper Tells False Stories!

Vyrmnul International Times

Recently, a news story has been published in the misnamed paper "World Herald", which is actually a news paper published in Bendermong. The article quotes the mother of the future queen, who has been dead for some time now. The Vyrmnul International would like to caution readers before they believe in the blatant lies of the Bendermongese paper. Furthermore, the other quote from the Argonia chief of police was also false.

Chief of Staff of Bendhermong Makes a Statement

I hear that there have been some ruffled feathers throughout the world over the publication that goes by the name of the World Herald.  However, Bendhermong does not censor publications. Apparently the information is inaccurate.  It must be treated without any seriousness anyway then.

Imara Pledges 14 Million Pounds to International Research

The Imaran government has agreed that it would be in the best interest of the world if Imara pledged 7%, a number based on its factory count divided by the world future factory count.  The Imaran government will pay this sum contingent on the other nations allowing Imara to join the treaty.

Report in the World Herald

World Herald

The mother of the Argonian king has insisted that her son receive the throne. "This is an outrage that an adult monarch, fully capable of ruling should be kept in subjection to a foreign power." The royal heralds are proclaiming throughout the land that Quatron release control of Argonia to its rightful monarch. The chief of police in the Argonian capital has stated that "it is getting very difficult controlling the population, as demonstrations have verged on violence."  One protester states that "I have had enough of seeing Quatron troops in Argonia. It is one thing to treat us as equals in fighting a common foe. It is another thing for a guest to overstay his welcome."

Thalessaboran Denounces Bendhermongese Actions

Bendhermong stole Imaran ships.
Bendhermong tried to take all of Imara's contribution - if Imara contributed - to reduce its own contribution to the international research rather than dividing this among other nations.
Bendhermong threatened unilateral rejection of a treaty its government had signed and promised to offer.
Bendhermong made a 72.5 million pound deal with a nation it had agreed to impose trade sanctions on.

The Thalessaboran government (and people) are most displeased.
This just appeared on the World Herald.

"To the leaders of Quatron,

A resolution has been passed by the nations of Imara, Azania, Calia, Surcia, and Dubinia, for the release of the Argonia's government from their position as a puppet state of Quatron. The aforementioned nations are of the belief that Argonia no longer needs Quatron's governmental aid and insist that the heir to the Argonian throne be allowed to assume their rightful place."

Bendhermong tried to tell Thalessaboran not to industrialize.

Acid Rain Damages Forests, Croplands

Acidic rainfall is beginning to affect forests and croplands throughout the world.  All resource output from these hexes declines 20%.  Scientists believe that these effects will persist until all nations of the world make efforts to reduce industrial production or institute pollution controls.

Note that these effects are in addition to the economic recession.

World Enters Economic Recession

Gold revenues for all nations decline 10%.  It is unclear whether the recession will worsen, perhaps impacting gold stored up as well as inflows.

BIA Final Analysis

After completing the investigation on Imara's three adjacent islands to Eretz, and interrogating suspects, the BIA concludes that, coupled with an apparent naval increase in the harbors of the three islands and the information gained from those in question, Imara had been preparing to support a rising in Eretz.

Bendhermong demands that permanent councilors be permitted in the three islands to ensure that no invasion or aggressive action of any kind occur.

Imara Complains about Quatron's Control of Argonia

Imara complains to the international community that Quatron is still the de facto controller of Argonia.  Months ago, the Quatron and Bendhermongese governments, under international pressure, decided to allow Argonia to become an independent nation whose ruler would be chosen by and loyal to the Argonian people.  However, Quatron has not followed through with this promise and still makes command decisions for Argonia.  Imara is most displeased.

Imara Allows BIA Access

Imara allows the Bendhermong Intelligence Agency access to Imaran islands in order to determine whether Imara is guilty of inciting a riot in Eretz against Bendhermong.  (Imara is not guilty, but this will prove Imara's innocence and avoid needless casualties and the ultimate defeat of Bendhermong.)

Imara Inciting Bendhermongese Island Protectorate!

Bendhermong Times
April 7, 1914

Imaran agents were caught inciting the people of Eretz to stage a coup against Bendhermong, and make a bid for their independence. As everyone knows in the wake of that short war, Bendhermong has allowed the former nation of Eretz to remain in a protectorate status, locally governing themselves.  Bendhermong has been very fair. However, it is no place of Imara to involve themselves in the matters of Bendhermong, which considers this an act of war since it violates Bendhermong's sovereign right to maintain its borders that any self-respecting nation would do as a matter of course. Bendhermong demands an immediate apology, and as it stands, the Imaran agents will likely be condemned to life in prison.

Quatron and Argonia Denounce Azanian Attack

Quatron 1914 - Quatron and Argonian officials strongly denounced the Azanian attack on Calia. The Quatron Foreign Minister stated "We will not allow Quatron's diplomatic reputation to be sullied by countries attempting to profit on our treaties. We signed the peace in good faith with the Calian people that their country would survive." Speculation exists that Quatron and Argonia are prepared to send Azania an ultimatum.

Amalah Denounces Azanian Aggression

Amalah has threatened war with Azania unless Azania ceases and desists immediately.

Azania Declares War on Calia

The Azanian army has marched across the border with Calia in an attack.  The Azanian commander has said that the move is in response to multiple aggressive maneuvers that Calia has conducted in the past and that "it is necessary for global security that the Calian aggressors be eliminated once and for all."  Azania has called upon the other nations of the world to aid in "removing" Calia.

Calia has protested the action to the international community as aggression motivated by greed.  Calia has argued that Azania has scapegoated them when Azania has engaged in similarly aggressive moves in the past.
